ABOUT ME

Angela Phillips
Founder / Lead Facilitator
Angela Phillips has spent more than 15 years exploring how movement, breath, and attention can transform the way people learn, work, and live. A yoga and mindfulness educator, she founded Play in the Sunshine LLC in 2017 to bring accessible wellness practices into schools and workplaces. Angela partners with educators, administrators, and corporate leaders to introduce practical tools for stress reduction, focus, and resilience—helping individuals and teams integrate well-being into everyday life.

Alongside her work in wellness, Angela is also an Aerial Designer for Broadway stages, where movement becomes storytelling in the air. This creative perspective deeply informs her teaching: she approaches yoga as both a practice and an experience—dynamic, engaging, and rooted in curiosity about what the body and mind are capable of together.

Angela holds a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 certification and has completed teacher trainings, including Bikram Yoga (2009), iD Yoga (formerly Fierce Grace), Bent on Learning Children’s Yoga, and Mindful Schools. Whether she is working with students, educators, executives, or performers, her goal is the same: to create environments where people feel energized, focused, and empowered to thrive.

In addition to her dedication to yoga and wellness, Angela is an exceptionally gifted, multi-disciplinary artist with a remarkable blend of creativity and energy. Her unique command of her artistry allows her to excel in a diverse range of disciplines with a rare freedom of spirit.

Her artistic journey began as a spirited dancer, performing with renowned music groups and gaining acclaim in the Off-Broadway sensation De La Guarda with Pichon Baldinu. Her creative contributions as Associate Aerial Designer for Broadway productions include Disney's TARZAN, Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID, and SPIDERMAN-Turn Off the Dark—International credits: Disney’s TARZAN and HOMBRE VERTIENTE. Regional credits at La Jolla Playhouse: FLY with Jeffrey Seller and Andy Blakenbuehler and Velour: A Drag Spectacular with Moisés Kaufman and Tectonic Theater Project.
